Solved: The model for the LTC6244 contains a 3.5pF differential input capacitance ("CIN1 3 2 3.5E-12" in LTC6244.txt) which is just enough to create a positive feedback path in some cases in the simulation. An additional 3pF cap from IN+ to ground (parallel to the 2.1pF common mode input capacitance of the part, CIN2 and CIN4 in LTC6244.txt) made the oscillation disappear.

btw: 3pF corresponds approx. to a 5-10 cm long PCB trace.
